We recommend placing your bid at the maximum you are willing to pay (MAX Bid), and that way you can be confident in getting the item at no more than what you are willing to pay for.
If you do not like using MAX Bid, you need to watch your bids in the last fifteen minutes of closing because e-mail notifications are sometimes slow during the last half hour of the auction due to the volume of activity at that time.
If you’re watching one specific lot, a good way to know if you’re the high bidder or not will be to notice a green or red flag beside the lot name:
- If the flag is green, you are the current high bidder.
- If the flag is red you have been outbid.
Alternatively, you can go to your "My Bids" from the main YouBidLocal homepage if you’re watching your items during auction closing time, or want to check if you’ve won your items once the auction is over.
- If it is green, you are the current high bidder
- If it is red you have been outbid
